Representatives from 10 ASEAN Member States convened in Siem Reap, Cambodia, to discuss the future of science, technology and innovation in sectors including healthcare in the ASEAN region and beyond.

In his opening speech at the 20th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology, and Innovation, Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted advances in blockchain, quantum computing, data science, machine learning, deep learning augmented reality and virtual reality, biotechnology, and gene editing and biometric authentications.

Themed “Artificial Intelligence Application: Navigating the Future” , the overarching goal of the meeting was to establish strong frameworks and best practices for responsible AI development that promoted inclusivity and sustainable development.
