Malaysia’s Ministry of Health (MOH) is aiming to have 900 health clinics nationwide providing virtual consultation services by the end of 2024. These teleconsultation services will cover follow-up treatments for communicable and non-communicable diseases, antenatal care, family planning, and other primary healthcare services.

As of July 2024, 287 out of 1,093 clinics across Malaysia have already implemented virtual consultations. The expansion of this service will enhance the delivery of remote healthcare, particularly benefiting rural residents through smartphone access.

The MOH highlighted that its MySejahtera app is the primary platform for public health services and offers significant convenience to users, especially those facing geographical or physical barriers to healthcare access.
