Ant Group‘s AQ health app surpassed 100 million total users during the Chinese New Year holiday period, with the company describing it as the world’s largest AI-native health platform.
The app, which offers features including health Q&A, AI skin analysis, voice consultations, personalised health goals, and digital health records, saw a notable uptick in downloads during the holiday, reaching the top spot on China’s Apple App Store overall download chart for several consecutive days.
According to data released by Ant Group, 52% of new users registered between February 9 and February 21 came from third-tier cities and smaller — a sign that adoption is spreading beyond China’s major urban centres. The company attributed part of the growth to younger users returning to their hometowns for the holiday and introducing the app to family members.
The figures also point to growing usage among Chinese travelers abroad, with overseas AQ usage rising 106% compared to January. The company said users were turning to the app to address health concerns stemming from changes in climate, diet, and environment while traveling.
The milestone reflects broader trends in China around AI adoption in personal healthcare, though independent verification of the user figures and app store rankings has not been confirmed.
