From Central Asia to Saudi Arabia: IPROFI.PRO targets clinics with digital health solutions

Based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, IT consulting firm IPROFI.PRO is expanding across Central Asia with its digital health platform, IPROFIMED, and now has its sights set on new markets including the UAE and Saudi Arabia. In this interview with HealthTechAsia, Georgii Shelukhin and Aida Bairakhtarova discuss their motivation for focusing on healthcare innovation — and where the journey is headed next.

“Our medical system, IPROFIMED, was born out of a clear need,” Bairakhtarova began, explaining that IPROFI.PRO’s journey started as a small education centre before evolving into an IT solutions provider across the CIS region. “While many online platforms allow users to book appointments or schedule healthcare specialists, there wasn’t a truly comprehensive system that brought together appointment management, inventory control, financial accounting, and operational workflows — all in one place.”

The company’s goal was to create a unified platform with interconnected modules, enabling all specialists within a clinic to work seamlessly together, sharing data and easily accessing the information they need.”

“We later realised we also wanted to make life a little easier for doctors themselves,” Bairakhtarova continued. “For example, my family has been personally affected by medical errors — my brother and sister live with disabilities as a result. That experience became a deeply personal motivation for us to develop solutions that help reduce medical mistakes.

After all, doctors are human too, and even the most skilled professionals can sometimes overlook small but important details. That understanding inspired us to create our telemedicine model, designed specifically to help minimise human error and improve patient safety.”

Today, IPROFI.PRO’s telemedicine solution is among the first of its kind to be implemented across CIS countries, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Within its portfolio are ophthalmology and haemodialysis clinics, as well as a cochlear implantation centre for children. “One of our international partners, Medel, showcases the impact of our solution: in this clinic, around 15% of patient diagnostic results are reviewed and reanalysed by our specialists. This demonstrates how our system actively enhances diagnostic accuracy and contributes to better patient outcomes.”

Additional partners include the Central Asia Ophthalmology Clinic of Professor Ismankulov, the German dialysis centre VitaMed, and the Austrian company Med-El, a collaboration that began in Kyrgyzstan.

“The key advantage of our system is that it really stands out from other medical information systems thanks to its deep adaptation to the real processes of each individual clinic. It combines a user-friendly interface, wide modularity — covering everything from email to telemedicine — and fast integration. Altogether, this ensures efficient management, reduced costs, and improved quality of medical services,” Bairakhtarova highlighted.

“Clinics can activate only the modules they actually need — from email to telemedicine — based on their specific profile, which helps them avoid paying for unnecessary functionality. The modern interface, smooth integrations, and remote access features furthermore ensure convenience for both doctors and administrators.”

IPROFI.PRO’s focus extends to patients as well. “Our system collects all diagnostic results and medical history, analyses them, and provides an early preview or interpretation. Patients can access their results directly through the app, without needing to book an appointment with a doctor.

At the moment, it’s not 100% accurate, as we are working with vast amounts of data and considerable variation in diagnostic results. We are constantly training the system and adding new data, such as X-rays and MRI scans—every day, every hour. It’s a continuous, ongoing process.

Early results are encouraging, with the company targeting 60% accuracy in the initial phase. “It’s a lot of work, but we’re getting there,” Bairakhtarova added.

Data protection remains a top priority. “Our system fully complies with national standards, reporting formats, and healthcare regulations — not only in the Kyrgyz Republic but also in every country where we operate,” she said.

“Since each country has its own data privacy laws, we create separate databases in every country where we operate to store patient information locally. These databases are not hosted on our own servers — instead, we work with local partners in each country, all of whom have certified data centres that meet national safety and security standards.”

Expanding into new markets

Because of these regulatory differences, IPROFI.PRO is taking a gradual approach to expansion, entering one market at a time. “We typically begin by participating in exhibitions, where we meet potential partners and clients. When several clients — for example, five or more — express interest in bringing our solution to their market, we then decide to establish a local presence and actively promote our services there,” Bairakhtarova said.

Among these events is GITEX Global 2025, where IPROFI.PRO participated recently in the UAE.

“We aim to expand into Dubai—possibly other emirates too—and the wider Gulf region, with Saudi Arabia as a key growth market,” she explained. “We’re particularly focused on working with government organisations in markets such as Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and across the GCC. Our five-year goal is to build a strong presence in Saudi Arabia, while in the near term we plan to enter the Dubai market and form new regional partnerships.”

Smiling, she added, “We’re open to any challenge — we can always adapt. As I like to say, we’re always hungry.”
