M42 expands renal care into Kyrgyzstan, marks ten years in Kazakhstan

Abu Dhabi-based M42 has opened its first dialysis clinic in Kyrgyzstan through its renal care arm Diaverum, extending the AI-enabled health group’s footprint in Central Asia. The move coincides with Diaverum’s tenth year of operations in neighbouring Kazakhstan, where it has grown into the country’s largest private dialysis provider.

The new clinic, based in Bishkek, will open with 15 dialysis stations running three shifts a day, six days a week, with scope to expand to 20 stations. It will apply Diaverum’s existing care model, which combines international clinical standards with local governance and staffing. According to the company, close to half a million adults in Kyrgyzstan are living with chronic kidney disease, with one study putting prevalence at 10.8% of the adult population.

The Bishkek launch was attended by regional Diaverum and M42 leadership alongside representatives of Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Health, the National Investment Agency, and diplomatic missions including the UAE Embassy.

In Kazakhstan, Diaverum has expanded from nine clinics at entry to more than 55 nationwide, employing over 1,000 staff and serving over 3,400 patients. M42 Group Chief Executive Officer Dimitris Moulavasilis described the company as building “a global health intelligence platform” spanning clinical care, technology, data and genomics.

The Kyrgyzstan entry follows M42’s separate agreement with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Health to explore collaboration on the country’s national genome programme, extending the group’s regional activity beyond care delivery into prevention and diagnostics. Taken together, the three engagements point to a broader push by M42 to establish an integrated presence across Central Asia, pairing specialist care delivery with genomics and digital health capabilities.
