United Arab Emirates

UAE health authorities launched an updated version of “Al Hosn” app, the national digital healthcare platform, in September. With vital features to safeguard the health of younger generations, the upgrade aims to further the goals of the UAE’s National Immunisation Programme and protect the community from infectious diseases.

In August, the UAE Government approved federal decrees and amendments of certain provisions on the regulations of healthcare professions and healthcare providers and veterinary medicine. The amendments aim to aggravate penalties for healthcare workers who practice without a license and those who do not meet the requirements.

Saudi Arabia

In September, the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority published the Implementing Regulations of the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and Regulation on Personal Data Transfer outside the Geographical Boundaries of the Kingdom (Transfer Regulations).
