King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre aims to enhance patient outcomes with AI

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) is using telemedicine services, virtual consultations, and AI-driven tools such as the ANFAL AI system to transform patient outcomes through predictive insights and personalised care, according to the Riyadh hospital.

The ANFAL system, designed to enhance the patient experience, service quality, and efficiency, identifies patients who are most likely to provide unfavourable comments about their experience owing to risk factors like waiting time and treatment side affect, allowing concerns to be addressed proactively by the relevant operational unit.

Late in 2023, the Organ Transplant Center of Excellence at KFSH&RC successfully performed the world’s first fully robotic liver transplant, in an approach that requires smaller incisions, reduced recovery times, and lower rates of complications, including infections and surgical issues.

Other initiatives implemented by the hospital include deploying Whole Genomic Sequencing and Advanced Radiation Therapy to address broader health threats, and introducing the Harmony Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve (TPV) for the first time in the Middle East.
