Insurance Meet 2024 evaluates AI impact on health insurance

A Dubai conference hosted by Thumbay Healthcare looked at how AI will shape the insurance landscape by enabling more sophisticated risk assessments that analyse individual health data, thereby allowing insurers to offer personalised coverage options and fairer premium rates tailored to specific needs.

The event, Insurance Meet 2024, brought together regulators from Dubai Healthcare Authority ahead of the national health insurance scheme due to take effect in early 2025.

The conference additionally focused on how advanced analytics will empower insurers to detect fraudulent activities in real time, mitigating losses, and therefore improving operational efficiencies for insurers and improving patient outcomes.

Insurance Meet 2024 furthermore unveiled a new medical coding and billing professionals course, led by Gulf Medical University in collaboration with the American Academy of Professional Coders. The course aims to equip individuals with the necessary medical coding skills amid the challenges of growing healthcare complexity and an ageing population.
