Ant Group launches AI tools to tackle health misinformation in China

Ant Group’s healthcare app AQ has introduced new AI tools to curb health misinformation in China, with a focus on protecting older users.

The latest update includes a feature that can spot fraudulent medical adverts and misleading health claims. Users can verify information by uploading a photo, typing in text, or using a one-click voice call, with the system designed to be especially easy for seniors to navigate.

To boost the credibility of health content, Ant Group has also partnered with more than 300 leading doctors to develop AI “Doctor Agents” within AQ. These agents provide authoritative medical guidance, while over 200,000 doctors are available for real-time consultations through Ant’s online health platform Haodf.com.

Ant Group also plans to hold thousands of in-person education sessions across the country to raise awareness among seniors and help shield them from medical misinformation.

Since its official launch in June 2025, Ant Group’s AI healthcare manager AQ has reached 100 million users.
