Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has announced a strategic partnership with Lean Business Services at the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh to deploy Google Cloud’s generative AI solutions across the national digital health ecosystem via the official Sehhaty application.
The collaboration’s most immediate impact will be the integration of multimodal API capabilities, using the Gemini model on Vertex AI, to enhance the Sehhaty app. This will transform the user experience by enabling live voice and video interactions within the new Sehhaty chatbot interface, providing users with reliable and instant initial health guidance.
Access to and use of patient data are safeguarded through Google Cloud’s robust infrastructure and secure data storage, which support compliance with the Class C licence requirements in Saudi Arabia. Each customer retains full control over their security, privacy, and data governance processes. The platform furthermore operates fully within the Kingdom’s data residency framework and Class C licence compliance, ensuring privacy, security, and sovereignty over all national health data.
The initiative highlights the Ministry of Health’s commitment to Saudi Vision 2030. By combining the Ministry’s nationwide reach with Google Cloud’s expertise in security, data, and generative AI, the collaboration aims to set a new benchmark for the use of advanced technology in public healthcare across the Kingdom and region.
