The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) and the World Economic Forum have announced the next phase of their collaboration to advance intelligent health systems and healthy longevity, building on previous joint work in digital health transformation.
Under the new phase, Abu Dhabi will continue its role as a Global Pathfinder within the World Economic Forum’s Digital Healthcare Transformation (DHT) Initiative. The initiative brings together more than 200 organisations across healthcare, technology, policy and investment to accelerate health system transformation through digital, data-driven and artificial intelligence-enabled solutions.
The partnership will focus on several priority areas, including the advancement of healthy living and healthy longevity, the use of intelligent health systems to inform public health and broader policy decisions, and the large-scale integration of digital technologies, data and artificial intelligence within healthcare systems.
The work will also align with the Forum’s wider health programmes, including the Healthy Longevity Initiative, the Chief Health Officers Community, and the Partnership for Health System Sustainability and Resilience, supporting continued global dialogue and collaboration informed by Abu Dhabi’s experience.
The announcement follows the conclusion of the previous phase of cooperation between DoH and the Forum, which resulted in the co-authored white paper A New Era for Digital Health: Abu Dhabi’s Leap to Health Intelligence. The publication outlines Abu Dhabi’s approach to integrating clinical, genomic, lifestyle and environmental data to support disease prevention, risk prediction and population-level health policy.
