Vitalls, a UAE-founded digital health passport platform, has secured a US$1.5 million investment commitment from Singapore-registered EST Growmore Pte. Ltd., with an option for an additional US$1 million, the companies announced on 21 October.
The agreement was announced during the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit and signed by Vitalls founder Mehdi Bouchenak and EST Group chairman Dr Sindhu Bhaskar. EST Growmore will act as the anchor investor in Vitalls’ seed round.
Vitalls is developing an AI-powered platform designed to allow individuals, families and businesses to store and share health records across healthcare providers and national borders. The company aims to address the fragmentation of medical records across different healthcare systems, which can make it difficult to access medical histories when people relocate or travel.
The platform allows users to maintain a centralised health record and share information with healthcare providers of their choice, with their consent. The company says its system uses encryption and privacy-focused safeguards to protect user data.
Beyond the financial commitment, the companies plan to explore opportunities for collaboration through EST Growmore’s investment network, including potential partnerships in telecommunications and healthcare. Areas under consideration include distribution, product development and regional and international expansion.
Bouchenak said the agreement would support Vitalls’ development and expansion, while Bhaskar highlighted the challenges of accessing medical records across healthcare systems and the potential role of patient-controlled digital records.
Further details about the investment’s terms, including the valuation of the company and the timeline for any additional funding, were not disclosed in the announcement.
Vitalls is headquartered in the UAE and focuses on portable, user-controlled digital health records. EST Growmore is a Singapore-registered investment fund focused on cross-border investments in sectors including technology, healthcare, agriculture and sustainable development.
