Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, MBZUAI, and Core42 launch Global AI Healthcare Academy in UAE

Abu Dhabi Department of Health partners with MBZUAI, Core42 to launch Global AI Healthcare Academy

A new Global AI Healthcare Academy will be launched in Abu Dhabi, UAE, that will provide an AI-trained workforce capable of advancing diagnostic and operational efficiency, significantly improving patient care, and streamlining healthcare processes.

The initiative is the result of an MoU signed by Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), and G42 company Core42 during Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week.

The Global AI Healthcare Academy will conduct training sessions for up to 100 attendees for Abu Dhabi’s healthcare workforce. Selected participants from these sessions will furthermore have the opportunity to pursue more customised courses based on their specific line of work, covering subjects such as AI for radiology and cardiology, and more advanced data analytics and prediction techniques. Tailored educational courses will additionally target C-suite and operational staff on AI in public health leadership topics.

The Global AI Healthcare Academy aims to enhance the healthcare sector’s AI capabilities beyond education. Through collaboration with MBZUAI’s newly established Institute of Digital Public Health, the Academy will include research and innovation, pushing the boundaries of knowledge and fostering groundbreaking discoveries. These efforts will encourage public-private partnerships, securing ample funding, and ensuring ongoing sustainability.
