Perceptra, a Bangkok-based developer of AI systems for medical image analysis, has begun its international expansion, marking its entry through participation in the 24th Asian Oceanian Congress of Radiology in Singapore. Alongside the move, the company launched Inspectra MMG, a mammography AI tool the company says is designed for Asian breast tissue and intended to support earlier detection of breast cancer.
The launch builds on Perceptra’s domestic track record. Its existing product, Inspectra CXR, an AI tool for chest X-ray analysis, is included in the benefits of Thailand’s Universal Coverage Scheme and is deployed, according to the company, across more than 630 hospitals nationwide, spanning both public and private facilities.
Perceptra is positioning the expansion as a response to screening capacity constraints it says are common across Southeast Asia, including shortages of specialist physicians and uneven access between urban and rural areas. Chief executive Supitchaya Phupisut said the company sees such constraints as a shared regional challenge rather than one unique to Thailand.
Inspectra CXR was developed in collaboration with Siriraj Hospital, part of Mahidol University, and the company separately partners with Google on an AI-based diabetic retinopathy screening programme it says reaches close to a million people in underserved communities in Thailand.
The company has not disclosed specific target markets beyond its presence at the Singapore congress, or a timeline for wider regional rollout.
