Ping An Good Doctor launches AI-powered multilingual service for expats in China

Ping An Good Doctor has unveiled Ping An GlobalCare, a new product aimed at addressing the language and navigation barriers expatriates face when accessing healthcare in China. The product was unveiled at the Shenzhen Sci-Tech Innovation Exhibition on 8 September and is now available for trial in Shenzhen.

The service combines an AI-powered real-time translation engine with a coordinated online-to-offline care pathway. The translation system supports two-way speech and text translation across 19 languages, with coverage of medical terminology, and the platform allows login via mobile numbers from 198 countries and regions.

Beyond translation, GlobalCare offers an end-to-end care journey: online assessment, transfer by a dedicated case coordinator, and in-person escort through the hospital visit. The company cited the case of an American user who received a vehicle transfer and coordinator support after an online consultation for abdominal pain, reducing what it described as a typically lengthy process to around three hours.

The service’s family doctor team holds membership certification under PKU Healthcare, and its broader service system has been certified by the World Organization of Family Doctors, the Chinese Society of General Practice under the Chinese Medical Association, and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Many team members are drawn from tertiary (3A) hospitals in mainland China.

A company representative said GlobalCare formed part of efforts to strengthen Ping An’s cross-border healthcare capabilities and expand its wider service network spanning online, in-hospital, at-home and corporate health management.
