Mecomed, a medical technical association in the Middle East and Africa, has joined the Global Harmonization Working Party (GHWP),a non-profit organisation that brings together medical device regulatory authorities and industry representatives worldwide, as a Liaison Member in an alliance that aims to ultimately improve patient outcomes in the Middle East and Africa and globally.
GHWP’s primary objective is to promote global regulatory convergence, harmonisation, and reliance in medical device regulations, working closely with international organisations such as MDRF, WHO, ISO, and IEC to advance high-quality global healthcare standards.
This partnership is expected to bring regional perspectives to the forefront, addressing the unique challenges and needs of the Middle East and Africa through close collaboration on streamlining regulatory pathways, aligning global standards, and raising healthcare quality.
