Ant Group updates AQ health app with AI companion, health Q&A, and integrated services

China’s Ant Group has announced significant updates to its AI health companion service AQ, a health management app that has grown to 15 million monthly active users since its launch in June 2025 and now handles more than 5 million health-related queries each day.

The updated app, now also named Ant A-Fu in China, includes three main features: health Q&A, an AI health companion, and integrated health services.

The newly introduced health companion feature aims to support users in building and maintaining healthy habits.

Users can log their health data directly in AQ, which now also allows integration with major smart device brands, including Apple, Huawei, vivo, Yuwell, and Omron. With user consent, the app can automatically sync daily health metrics such as physical activity, heart rate, and sleep duration from these devices.

In addition to smart devices, users can upload photos or images to record health information. The app also enables the creation of health profiles for family members, allowing it to track long-term health trends and provide guidance for the wellbeing of the entire household.

AQ has also added two companion tools: health goal setting and smart reminders. Users can establish goals for exercise, diet, or lifestyle habits, while the app provides tailored plans and daily reminders to support users in achieving them.

For cases requiring medical diagnosis, AQ connects users with a nationwide network of 300,000 doctors for online consultations. The app also enables users to book in-person appointments, purchase medication, and pay hospital bills using their basic medical insurance e-certificates.

In addition, AQ has partnered with more than 500 physicians across China to introduce AI Doctor Agents on the platform. These agents provide health recommendations by learning from each doctor’s prior experience and have collectively responded to over 27 million health-related inquiries.

By handling routine health questions, AQ aims to allow doctors to devote more time to treating complex conditions.
