AITRICS signs Vietnam AI cooperation agreement as Southeast Asia expansion continues

AITRICS, a South Korean medical AI company, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Health of Hung Yen Province in Vietnam to advance cooperation in AI-based medical management, the company announced on Tuesday.

The agreement was concluded on 23 April during the Korea-Vietnam Business Forum in Hanoi, held as part of an economic delegation led by President Lee Jae Myung.

Under the terms of the MOU, AITRICS and the Hung Yen provincial health authority will collaborate to expand the use of artificial intelligence in Vietnam’s medical sector and improve regional healthcare services. Planned activities include medical staff training, expert exchanges, and joint academic seminars. AITRICS said it would also assess the feasibility of deploying its AI solutions within Vietnam’s regulatory and clinical environment.

AITRICS secures Indonesian regulatory approval for AI patient deterioration prediction solution

The company said the agreement provides a platform for engagement with Vietnam’s public healthcare system, with plans to work alongside hospitals in Hung Yen Province and expand the scope of cooperation over time, including an AI symposium for Vietnamese medical staff and health ministry officials later this year.

The Vietnam deal follows regulatory approval secured in Indonesia earlier this year for AITRICS-VC, known commercially as VitalCare, which uses AI to predict patient deterioration by drawing on electronic medical record data to identify patients at elevated risk before critical events occur. That approval — the product’s fifth globally — positions the company to engage with Indonesia’s accelerating digital health agenda, centred on the government’s SATUSEHAT national health data platform.

AITRICS-VC has now received regulatory clearance in South Korea, the United States, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Hong Kong, including clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration. The company said it is pursuing further approvals in Singapore and Malaysia.
