AstraZeneca and HUST launch Health Innovation Hub in Vietnam

AstraZeneca, in partnership with Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), has launched the Health Innovation Hub at HUST’s AI4LIFE Institute of AI Innovation for Societal Impact in Vietnam.

Integrated into AstraZeneca’s global A.Catalyst Network, the Health Innovation Hub aims to accelerate AI-driven healthcare solutions and expand equitable access to advanced medical technologies across Vietnam and the wider region. The hub exemplifies public–private collaboration and aligns with Vietnam’s national priorities on science, technology and digital transformation.

The partnership is formalised through a memorandum of understanding between AstraZeneca and HUST, establishing the Vietnam hub as part of a global network of more than 20 innovation hubs. Its activities include an AI research and development lab, international knowledge exchange, mentorship and skills development, commercialisation support, and access to venture capital and accelerator programmes.

The hub has already launched its first Health Innovation Accelerator cohort, supporting multiple healthtech and medtech startups working on projects spanning early diagnosis, treatment optimisation, capacity building and applied research. It will also collaborate with leading international institutions including King’s College London, Karolinska Institute, Adelaide University and others.

Building on AstraZeneca’s existing digital health initiatives in Vietnam — including AI-powered lung health screening, echocardiography and diagnostic programmes deployed across major hospitals — the Health Innovation Hub aims to deliver practical, scalable AI solutions tailored to Vietnam’s healthcare needs, while positioning the country as a regional leader in digital health innovation.
