GITEX 2024: Healthtech highlights from the world’s biggest tech gathering

GITEX GLOBAL 2024 held in Dubai brought together 6,500 exhibitors, 1,800 startups, and 1,200 investors, alongside governments from more than 180 countries and 200,000 visitors, while also achieving its highest international participation to date.

Among the healthtech highlights were:

  • The launch of Vitalls.AI, a health companion platform designed to organise health records, enable continuity of care, elevate data protection, and improve healthcare outcomes through AI. The app was developed by Synexty and backed by venture studio DeepMinds with the aim of empowering patients to make informed decisions about their wellbeing and enhance their overall healthcare journey.
  • Contact lenses from Dubai-based Xpanceo that use embedded optical biosensors to measure interocular eye pressure, glucose, cortisol, heart rate and other crucial health indicators.
  • The launch of a health services app for residents by Department of Health – Abu Dhabi. Sahatna app was launched to easily provide residents with a range of health services, in line with a commitment to build the world’s most intelligent and patient-centric healthcare system.
  • The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and Ministry of Health and Prevention additionally signed an MoU to bolster joint efforts in health data and information exchange.
  • ScanO’s flagship product, scanO air—the world’s first contactless AI-powered robotic system for oral health screening. The product from the India-based deep tech company aims to make oral care accessible and equitable.
  • RoboCT‘s UGo Rehab Exoskeleton designed for patients with lower-limb dysfunction, spinal cord injury, strokes, or cerebral palsy. The exoskeleton technology from the Chinese company is aimed at enhancing the rehabilitation process by integrating advanced sensors, data analysis, and research.
