Ping An selected for national pilot on workplace health management

Ping An Health Investment Management Co., Ltd. has been selected as one of the first pilot participants in a national-level initiative in China focused on high-quality workplace health management. The programme, titled Pilot Projects of Innovative Integration for Major Chronic Disease Prevention and Control and High-Quality Workplace Health Management, aims to improve employee health outcomes through integrated prevention and management approaches.

According to the company, its inclusion in the pilot reflects its integrated “finance and healthcare” service model. Under the initiative, Ping An will deploy its QiKang corporate health management framework, which emphasises a shift from claims-based healthcare towards preventive care, from standardised benefits to targeted interventions, and from cost-driven approaches to value-oriented health management.

As part of the pilot programme in East China and South China, Ping An plans to provide participating enterprises with access to its combined online and offline healthcare network. Services will include online medical consultations, specialist referrals, offline care coordination, and chronic disease management support for employees.

The company will also apply AI and big data technologies to support enterprises in establishing employee electronic health records and disease risk early-warning models. These tools are intended to enable more precise health profiling and earlier intervention.

In addition, Ping An will work with participating enterprises to explore mechanisms that link health management outcomes with insurance costs, assessing whether incentives tied to health-related behaviours can help optimise overall employee welfare investment.
