Bupa Arabia highlights healthcare AI and virtual clinics at Money 20/20 Middle East

Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance participated as a Platinum Sponsor at the Money 20/20 Middle East Conference and Exhibition, held from September 15 to 17 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center.

Bupa Arabia’s participation focused on showcasing its healthcare delivery arm, Bupa CareConnect, and its initiatives to integrate AI and digital technologies into the health insurance and healthcare experience. The company presented its digital clinics, chronic disease management programmes, and preventive healthcare solutions as part of a broader strategy to streamline access and improve patient outcomes.

As part of its presence at Money 20/20, Bupa Arabia signed several strategic partnerships with leading players in technology, government, and healthcare. These collaborations are aimed at strengthening the company’s digital infrastructure and expanding the role of AI and digital tools in clinical pathways and care management.

By embedding smart technologies into patient care, Bupa CareConnect is seeking to reduce time-to-treatment, enable early detection through data analytics, and support more personalised and proactive healthcare models — a direction that aligns with Saudi Vision 2030.

Bupa Arabia executives contributed to panel discussions throughout the three-day event. Hatim Jamal, Chief Financial Officer, took part in a session on digitalising and integrating insuretech for businesses. Eng. Ali Sheneamer, Chief Business Development Officer, participated in a session titled “From Claims to Codes: The Future of the Insurance Industry,” where he discussed how digital transformation is reshaping insurance operations.

Amira Youssef, Chief Digital Transformation Officer, signed partnership agreements with global technology leaders such as CNTXT (Google Cloud’s exclusive partner in Saudi Arabia), Oracle, and Microsoft, reinforcing Bupa Arabia’s commitment to innovation and cross-sector collaboration.

Bupa CareConnect highlighted how its digital clinics and AI-driven tools are making healthcare more accessible and responsive. Dr. Abdullah Khafagy, Executive Director – Medical, noted that digital health services now offer patients 24/7 consultations from home, along with customised chronic disease programmes that promote adherence and early intervention.

Amira Youssef added that AI is now used to analyse patient data in real time, enabling early diagnosis and supporting clinical decision-making, while also ensuring data privacy and compliance with regulatory standards.
