Bupa CareConnect partners with InterSystems to advance digital healthcare and enhance patient care

InterSystems, the creative data technology provider, has announced a partnership with Bupa CareConnect, the healthcare delivery arm of Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance, to implement the InterSystems TrakCare unified health information system across Bupa CareConnect’s operations. TrakCare will serve as the core platform supporting the organisation’s virtual clinic services, home healthcare offering, and planned physical clinics.

According to the companies, the implementation forms part of Bupa CareConnect’s broader digital health strategy, which aims to provide continuity of care across in-person services, remote consultations, telemedicine, integrated care pathways and home care.

Bupa CareConnect selected TrakCare to support the modernisation of its clinical and administrative workflows, including alignment with Saudi healthcare regulatory requirements. The system provides a cloud-enabled platform designed to support scalability while improving access to services, operational efficiency and patient engagement.

The rollout is intended to give Bupa CareConnect members more streamlined access to care, with a consistent experience across appointment booking, consultations and follow-up services.

Under the partnership, TrakCare will be used to unify clinical and administrative processes across virtual and physical care settings, improve interoperability with third-party systems, and strengthen governance and regulatory compliance within Saudi Arabia. The platform also includes analytics and AI-ready capabilities intended to support operational planning and preventive care initiatives as the organisation expands.

InterSystems noted that it has achieved compliance with Saudi Arabia’s National Platform for Health and Insurance Exchange Services (NPHIES), a national electronic platform developed by the Cooperative Health Insurance Council and the National Center for Health Information to support digital transformation in the Kingdom’s healthcare sector.

NPHIES is a key component of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare services through technology, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
